After 7 months we are reunited. Chris has been in Ukraine since March 28th. My trip was full of layovers, bad airplane food, no sleep, and a stomach full of butterflies. He met me at the airport and we stayed in Kiev for the weekend. This was my first European experience and I couldn't believe my eyes. Everything was so strange and beautiful. I spent the next two weeks at Chris' apartment in Artemovsk, about 2 hours from the Russian border. He showed me around his town, we drank beer, ate traditional Ukrainian meals, cooked borsch, played cards, visited his school, held hands, and loved every minute of it. If only I could have stayed forever. I would have been happy there with him.
